We did some research to see if we could find some unique alternative to the traditional honeymoon.An article in Bridal Guide magazine listed eight unconventional ideas.These ideas include adventure travel, ecotourism, educational activities, family trips, mini-trips, South America and volunteer vacations.

According to Bridal Guide magazine,remarriages are becoming more common in modern times.So many new marriages also include children from previous marriages.In this case, many couples choose to turn their honeymoon into a family trip.It is so refreshing to know that the newlyweds were making it a family event.

Jökulsárlón

Iceland
You’ll want to bring along your thickest wet suit for a swim in Iceland’s glacial lagoon. It may not be a warm-you-up bath, but Jökulsárlón is home to loads of fish and seals in the wintertime and it’s surrounded by beautiful blue waters if you’re looking for a photo-worthy spot.

Hotel de Glace

The hotel is erected each January and has a four-month lifespan each year before being brought down in April. It takes about a month and a half to build with 60 workers. The hotel makes its own snow using a special mixture to adjust the humidity. The hotel is made of 15,000 tons of snow and 500,000 tons of ice and the walls are up to four-feet thick.


Sapa, Vietnam

Ask your hotel to arrange for a Jeep to take you from Sapa to the Bac Ha Market on a Sunday morning, when trade is at its peak. It's about a three-hour drive to get there, but the trek is well worth it if you want to mingle with members of local tribes. Also have a car take you to Hoang Lien National Park, where a guide can take you to "Heaven's Gate" or the Silver Waterfall.

Finland

A stay in the Undersea Lodge is going to be a riot of colors. Explore the nocturnal marine life by going for night paddleboard tours. You can also swim with the dolphins in Dolphin Cove. Looking for culture, amazing food, and time with wildlife? Look no further than Northern Thailand. Take a cooking class to explore the wonders of Thai cuisine, wander around the temples in the Old City, or volunteer with elephants at Elephant Nature Park.

New Zealand
For the true adrenaline junkies, the adventure capital of the world is calling! From helicoptering in on a glacier and hiking around to bungee jumping off of bridges, hiking one of New Zealand’s famous tracks, or even black water rafting in a cave with glowworms, this place has no shortage of things to keep your adventurous heart racing. Just be sure to slow down and enjoy that delicious New Zealand wine after.
